JOHANN VAN ZYL

Johann van Zyl has been a journalist, proofreader and sub-editor in a career spanning over four decades. He served as editor of several magazines and ended his full-time career as journalist and proofreader of the Naspers financial magazine Finweek, where he spent 14 years. He has been freelancing since 2011.

Johann’s awards for journalism include the John Deere SA Agricultural Journalist of the Year Award in 1998 and other news awards. He has also authored two books, the first book, published by Protea in 2015, was “Die woordenaar van Tah”, a youth fantasy. CUM Books published his second book “God is hier!” In May 2022.

Johann has a BCom (Accountancy) degree and an Hons BA (Communication) degree.
