Sam Page has 24 years’ experience as a publishing professional – working on analogue and digital platforms. Over the years working on B2C and B2B publications, Sam has established herself as a much-respected member of the publishing community due to her keen work ethic, attention to detail and extreme diligence to every task.
During her 12-years at O, The Oprah Magazine, South Africa, she worked in every editorial position from sub-editor to editor in chief, and held the latter position for six years, steering the publication and representing Oprah Winfrey as a brand ambassador on her South African projects.
In 2012, she compiled and edited From Me to Me: Letters to My 16 ½-year-old Self, published by Jacana Media. In that same year, Sam attended Yale University in the US and completed a course in Leadership Strategies in Magazine and Digital Publishing.
When O magazine closed in 2014, Sam transitioned to content marketing where she joined John Brown Media (now Dentsu) for the next seven years, working on internal communications for Life Healthcare, Pick n Pay, Nestlé, Leisure Books, Old Mutual, Think with Google and many other brands as a content marketing strategist, copywriter, editor and jack-of-all-trades, given her diverse skill set.
In her current role as Senior Content Officer at Machine_, Sam is the content lead for internal comms for one of Machine_’s biggest FSP clients, hosts podcasts, works on content strategy and edits print and digital publications and newsletters. She was named SA Publication Forum’s editor the year in 2023.
Sam is an avid reader and writer, on occasion contributing articles to Daily Maverick, and a member of Toastmasters International, delivering award-winning speeches. She is happiest with a good book in hand, a steaming cup of Earl Grey and her cat in her lap.
