One, two, three LIFT OFF

“You’ve got to be in it to win it.”

Enter in three easy steps

Over the last 20 years, the annual Corporate Publication Competition, hosted by the SAPF, has set the benchmark for corporate publications (printed and digital). This competition affords editors, writers, designers and photographers the opportunity to compare their work to some of the best South Africa has to offer.

This opportunity for peer recognition and rewarding of excellence has inspired and motivated entrants to continually improve their publications. Improvement in the quality of the entries over the years are partially due to the valuable feedback from the hand-picked judges and moderators. And of course your hard work.

More than 2 500 publications have been entered since the inception of the competition in 2002.

We have simplified the entry process by dividing all categories into three groups:

• Publications

• Digital Projects

• Editor of the Year

Let’s clear this up

There seems to be some confusion as to the difference between a ‘Publication’ and an ‘Interactive Digital Publication’.

What is considered a Publication?

The group ‘Publications’ incorporates all publications that are/were printed traditionally – even if they are occasionally or always distributed electronically in pdf format. These include Magazines, Newspapers, Newsletters, One-off publications and Annual Reports. (These publications are usually produced in Indesign, Illustrator, Coral Draw, Photoshop, etc.)

What is considered an Interactive Digital Publication?

Interactive Digital Publications are produced and distributed digitally, are often in a 3D page turning magazine format and contain longer articles than an electronic newsletter (Email Newsletter Campaign). They usually include multimedia elements and are designed specifically for interactivity and user engagement. (These publications are usually created with specialised programs for coding and/or video editing.)

The competition has become paperless – all entries are transferred electronically (pdf format) or digitally (include the URL on the entry form). Results will again be made available virtually.

You can submit as many entries as you wish and in case of numerous entries, entry fees will be adjusted accordingly. Full or partial entries are accepted, making it more affordable to enter.

Just a reminder, only publications published between June 2021 and July 2022 can be entered for this year’s competition.

No need to wait – enter now, it’s as easy as one, two, three.
