Born and raised in Pretoria, Tlholo Modiba is an aficionado of all things design, strategy and entrepreneurship. His passion for his interests led him away from home in 2008 to the coasts of South Africa (both East and West), where the formative years of his graduate studies and work experience took place.
Permanently coming back home in 2017, Tlholo returned with a Master’s Degree in Graphic Design and three years of intense experience working as a designer in Woolworth’s Design Studio. Always seeking to combine his passions into a way of life, Tlholo co-founded a coffee company in 2017 – Black Coffee Society – in which he still serves, overlooking elements of brand development and design.
His academic career also continued, allowing him to hold an academic navigator (lecturer) position in the Graphic Design programme at the Independent Institute of Education’s Vega School. As a recent addition to his work, Tlholo also serves the The People’s Fund, a growing finance start-up, as part of the Brand team, which he contributes to through the disciplines of brand development and design.
