Jacques Lange is the editor of DESIGN> magazine and DESIGN> in Technology. He qualified with a degree in Information Design and completed the theoretical modules of an MA in Information Design from the University of Pretoria after which he gained professional experience in the theatre and television industries. He joined Bluprint Design in 1990, where he is currently partner and creative director. Throughout his career, he has actively engaged in the fields of design practice, profession management, education, design promotion and policy advocacy. His professional output as a designer has earned him many industry awards and his work has been featured in numerous publications and exhibitions. In addition,
Jacques is an experienced industry juror, a broadly published author and a speaker on design issues. Jacques is past president (2007-2009) of the International Council of Graphic Design Associations (Icograda), former co-chair of the International Design Alliance (IDA, 2005-2007) and a director of the Icograda Foundation. He is a steering committee member of the SABS Design Institute’s Design Achievers Awards, advisory committee member of the academic journal, Image & Text, Regional Ambassador for INDEX: Design to improve life awards, and advisor for UNESCO’s DESIGN 21, Social Design Network. In addition, he is an advisor to various governmental, education and non-governmental institutions.
